Jowai, Sept 27: The dispute between Pnars and karbis seems to have no end in near future. The situation remains tense since the skirmishes which occurred yesterday with Karbi side using bows and arrows  from both sides thus compelling  the Pnars to use  slingshots in retaliation to defend themselves.

It seemed that the present state of affairs is escalating where Meghalaya Police personnel directed by the district administration went to intercept at the site for curbing the contention between the two rivalries.

During the scuffle, Assam Police used tear gas to disperse  the unruly numbers of angry Pnars where some of them were affected by the smoke. As for now the commotion is alleviating as stated by Lapangap Headman D. Lyngdoh.
