NEHU VC inaugurates Golden Jubilee Girls’ Hostel

Jowai, Sept 29: The Vice Chancellor of Northeastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong Professor PS Shukla, on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of the ‘Golden Jubilee Girls Hostel’ at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Community College for Skill Development (DDUCC) at Wahiajer village of West Jaintia Hills, as part of the commemoration of the 107 birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay.

In his address, Professor Shukla expressed his happiness to be a part of the celebration. It may be mentioned that the land for the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Community for Skill Development was donated by the Dorbar Shnong of Wahiajer which covers 17.9 acres and construction for ‘Golden Jubilee Girls Hostel, was sanctioned at a cost of 7 crores rupees.

The Program was also attended by the (Retd) Founder Principal I/c of DDUCC, Chief Engineer CPWD, Shillong NK Bansal, Headman Wahiajer Sanwotki Laloo, Professor Mrs SM Sungoh Principal I/c DDUCC, students and others invitees.
