SHILLONG, Oct 2: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), in its two-day All India Office Bearers meet here, resolved to give emphasis to the interest of the students and improve the overall educational set up in the country.
The ABVP on Sunday unveiled its logo for the national conference to be held in Delhi from November 30 to December 3.
Informing that the meeting was attended by 42 ABVP workers from all over the country, an official of the ABVP, at a press conference here, said the meeting dwelt at length on ways and means to better the education sector carrying along the interest of the student community.
The ABVP also announced its upcoming ‘Purvottar Adhyayan Yatra’ in November aimed to offer 75 students from various states across India a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich traditions, diverse cultures, and natural wonders of Northeast. It was informed that during this programme, participants will have the chance to visit different tribes, explore local traditions, and discover historical sites scattered throughout the picturesque landscapes of Northeast India and understand and experience firsthand the contribution made by the Northeast and its rich cultural heritage and uniqueness.
Talking about the Manipur violence, especially the killing of the two students, the ABVP said that it is unacceptable even as it appealed to the authorities to unravel the conspiracy behind it.
The ABVP also appealed for peace in the strife-torn state and called upon all stakeholders to work together and bring normalcy back in the Northeastern state.
National General Secretary of ABVP, Yagyawalkya Shukla, said, “The states of Northeast India are rapidly emerging as prominent educational hubs, marking a positive development in the country’s education sector. Not only are these states rich in natural beauty, but they are also progressing on various fronts. This is indeed a promising sign for the entire nation”.
Emphasising on the growing number of students from Northeast India venturing to different parts of the country for educational pursuits and other purposes, he stressed the importance of efforts to help students understand the invaluable heritage of the Northeast, ultimately fostering a sense of unity amid diversity.
