Taitus Marak shines with 8th-place finish at Asian Mountain Bike C’hips

Tura, Oct 28: In a moment of great significance for athletes from the Garo Hills region, and indeed for the entire nation, Taitus Marak, proudly representing India at the ongoing Asian Mountain Bike Championships in Kerala, clinched a commendable eighth-place finish this afternoon, on October 28.
Taitus, a native of Tura and a student at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), is one of the three talented athletes hailing from the state who have been chosen to represent the country on this prestigious platform.
In the fiercely competitive men’s elite category, the championship was dominated by Sheng Shan Chiang from Chinese Taipei, who secured victory with an impressive timing of 2.20.102. Taitus, displaying remarkable grit and determination, completed the race with a respectable timing of 2.41.404. Notably, a total of 18 participants vied for top honors in this challenging category.
The Asian Mountain Bike Championships, a two-day event, commenced today and is unfolding amidst the picturesque landscapes of the Ponmudi Hills in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
As Taitus Marak continues to make the nation proud, the event promises to be a thrilling showcase of talent and determination among elite mountain bikers from across Asia.
