City resident on the run after allegedly stabbing wife

SHILLONG, Nov 1: Police are searching for a man named Suresh P Singh, who is suspected of stabbing his wife Poonam Singh in the abdomen on October 31. The woman is receiving care at Shillong Civil Hospital.
When contacted, Superintendent of Police (City), Vivek Syiem said that following the victim’s FIR, Laban Police has registered a case. He said the accused will be arrested soon.
The woman mentioned in her FIR that she was attacked with a knife after a fight with her husband over not getting groceries for their daughter.
“My daughter came down and saw me bleeding as I yelled. I reported the incident to the police, and I was taken to the civil hospital,” she said.
