New traffic arrangement for Polo, Madanrting

SHILLONG, Nov 3: With an aim to improve traffic flow at Polo and Madanrting area, the Shillong Traffic Police (STP) will make certain changes on the traffic regulation around the routes in the area on a trial basis with effect from November 6.
In a statement issued here on Friday, the STP has pointed out that in Polo area there will be no entry at 4th Furlong junction for vehicles wanting to proceed towards Polo. Vehicles will be diverted towards CS Junction / Pinewood junction / B K Bajoria junction.
Similarly, no right-turn will be permitted at Matri Mandir junction for vehicles proceeding towards Polo Bazaar junction. They will be diverted towards 4th Furlong.
Further, the STP has informed that there will be no right-turn at Green Hills junction for vehicles coming from Polo Towers road proceeding towards 4th Furlong. All vehicles will have to take right turn at Polo Bazaar junction and proceed towards 4th Furlong.
In Madanrting area, the road from Lumbasuk junction towards National Law University (NLU) shall be made one way i.e., vehicles can only proceed from Lumbasuk junction towards NLU.
Similarly, the road from Demthring petrol pump junction towards Madanrting Presbyterian junction shall be made one way i.e., vehicles can only proceed from Demthring petrol pump junction towards Madanrting Presbyterian junction.
Moreover, the road from Madanrting market junction towards Demthring petrol pump junction shall be made one way i.e., vehicles can only proceed from Madanrting market junction towards Demthring petrol pump junction, the statement said.
