Woman raped by man she met on matrimonial site
THANE, Nov 5: A 33-year-old woman from Navi Mumbai was allegedly repeatedly raped by a man she got acquainted with on a matrimonial site, police said on Sunday.Based on a complaint, the police have registered an offence under section 376(2)(n) (repeated rape on the same woman) of the Indian Penal Code against the accused who is based in Singapore, an official said.The woman, in her complaint, has alleged that she was raped by the accused on multiple occasions between December 2020 and March 2023 at lodges and hotels in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai and Singapore, he said.The woman got acquainted with the accused on a matrimonial site, and he raped her repeatedly at different locations after promising to marry her, the official said.The accused also allegedly photographed and shot objectionable videos of the woman, he said.No arrest has been made in the case and further probe is underway, the official added. Youth, girl provoke pet pitbull to attack neighbour
NEW DELHI, Nov 5: A 20-year-old youth and a girl incited their pet pitbull, to attack a neighbour in the outskirts of Delhi, police said on Sunday.The injured, in the incident which took place in Swaroop Nagar area, was identified as Riya Devi, 34.“The information regarding the incident was received on Friday at Swaroop Nagar police station regarding the quarrel after which a police team was dispatched for the spot,” a senior police officer said.Upon reaching the spot, the police team found that injured Riya Devi had been admitted to BJRM hospital. At the hospital the medico-legal case report was received which showed physical assault and pet dog bite.“The complainant, Riya Devi, stated that she went to her neighbour’s house to address an issue with their dog defecating in front of her house. At the neighbour’s house, they incited their dog, which resulted in the dog biting her multiple times,” said the officer.“When she verbally objected to this, a youth named Ritik and a girl named Shalu also assaulted her, threatening her life. All of these incidents were captured on the complainant’s CCTV camera,” said the officer.(IANS)
Girl commits suicide after her objectionable video goes viral
LAKHIMPUR KHERI (UP) Nov 5: A 17-year-old girl committed suicide after her objectionable video clip made by a person of another community went viral on social media, a police official said on Sunday, adding that an SHO has been suspended.The victim’s body was found hanging in her house on November 3, when her mother and sister had gone outside.Kheri SP told reporters that DSP (Pallia) Aditya Kumar Gautam has been asked to investigate the case and promptly file charge-sheet to ensure punishment to the accused.SHO of Sampurn Nagar police station Siyaram Verma was suspended on Saturday evening.Saha said the main accused of the case has been arrested and investigations from all angles would be carried out as per the allegations in the FIR.The main accused was arrested on Saturday.Police have registered a case against four persons – the main accused, his two brothers and father.
