Cops intensify vice raids in city

SHILLONG, Dec 2: East Khasi Hills Police have intensified vice raids as the festive season approaches.
East Khasi Hills SP, Sylvester Nongtnger informed that on Friday night, the police raided and seized around 1538.8 litres of beer, 43775 litres IMFL and 270 litres of illicit liqour from several places where illegal sale was going on and the same were destroyed on the spot.
The SP also said that measure to check and book drunken and reckless driving by LMVs and two wheelers will also be intensified to prevent accidents and loss of life.
“As December approaches many festivals are slated for the month and to prevent untoward incidents, the district police is taking preventive measures by conducting vice raids in several parts of the city.”
