Army school wins quiz competition

Shillong, Dec 5: Army Public School Shillong 101 Area won the ‘Brain Blast: a one-day Inter-school quiz competition’ organised by Meghalaya Together, socio-cultural organisation made up of like-minded individuals from different walks of life at Laitumkhrah Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, here on Tuesday.
Led by Anuraag Chandra Hazarika and Shreyash Nair, Army Public School Shillong 101 Area won the competition by scoring more than 200 points.
They were followed closely in second place by Sumit Das and Wangaal Lama from Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School, while Little Flower Secondary School led by Benny D Mylliemngap and Phrangsngi Kharmalki won third.
According to a statement here, nine schools from the city participated in the quiz competition.
It had two sessions, i.e., the preliminary round where all the students from the schools took part in a team of two and the final round to which the top six teams advanced after securing the highest points.
The programme was conducted by Dharmaraj Joshi, a Graduate from Gauhati University, who is a Freelance Personality Development trainer, professional Quiz Master and motivator for school students.
Consolation prizes and certificates were given to all the participants.
