Man dies after swallowing
bee while drinking water
BHOPAL, Dec 8: A 22-year-old man in Bhopal died after he accidentally swallowed a bee while drinking water and was stung by the insect on his tongue and food pipe, police said on Friday. Hirendra Singh, a labourer, accidentally swallowed the insect while drinking a glass of water at his home in the Berasia area, about 40 km from the district headquarters, on Wednesday night, police inspector Narendra Kulaste said. Singh complained of breathing problems and uneasiness as his food pipe was inflamed and was rushed to a government hospital. When his condition did not improve, he was moved to a private hospital, where he died around 1 am on Thursday, the official said.The victim had vomited the dead bee during treatment, he said. Gangster involved in
54 heinous
cases arrested
NEW DELHI, Dec 8: Delhi Police have arrested a 37-year-old criminal, who is found previously involved in 54 heinous cases, including murder, rape, dacoity, robbery, attempt to murder, arms act etc, and dismantled the gang active in Rohini’s Ashok Vihar and Mangolpuri areas. The gangster identified as Afsar Mohd a.k.a Ashok alias Sohal, a resident of Mangolpuri, was running the gang in his name. DCP (Rohini) Guriqbal Singh Sidhu said that on Thursday specific input was received about the movement of dreaded gangster, Afsar, in the area of Vijay Vihar police station. Accordingly, a trap was laid by a police team in the area for the arrest of the target. “The police team intercepted Afsar when he came in the area on a scooty. On his search, one pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession,” said the DCP. On sustained questioning, he disclosed all information. (IANS)
