SHILLONG, Dec 18: HYC president Roy Kupar Synrem on Monday urged the state government to take cognizance of the pending demand for ILP, terming it as the need of the hour.
He said that the HYC remains steadfast in their resolve to oppose the railway projects in Khasi and Jaintia Hills until and unless there is a strong regulation to regulate the movement of people into the state. “If the government wants to connect the state with railways, then it should first give us ILP or any similar regulation to restrict the entry of people into the state,” Synrem said.
