Drive launched to clean Nonbah River

Nongstoin, Dec 21: Green Tech Foundation Meghalaya today launched a cleaning drive to revitalize the Nonbah River, in Nongstion. Members of the Green Tech Foundation diligently collected all the waste littering the river, ensuring its proper disposal.

Speaking to media person H. Bansiewdor Nonglang, Chairman of the Green Tech Foundation, expressed their continued commitment to the river’s cleanliness.

He also said that they will soon embark on a door-to-door campaign, visiting houses and shops along the river to educate them about the detrimental effects of throwing waste into the river.

“Like it or not a significant portion of the garbage plaguing the Nonbah comes from those residing in its vicinity.” He said.

The cleaning drive saw enthusiastic participation from members of the Green Tech Foundation’s Nongstoin Division, alongside officials from the PHE department’s Swachh Bharat initiative.
