Shillong, Dec 21 : Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Meghalaya Energy Corporation Ltd (MeECL) Sanjay Goyal on Thursday informed that arrangements have been made concerning the power supply in the state.

He explained that during the peak hours they anticipate the average daily requirement to touch around 400 megawatts  and that has also been arranged for.

“We have forwarded the agreement of taking the energy from other sources as well.  Our own generation from sources the Umiam Lake where reservoir level is quite comfortable, will be also satisfactory.  So I don’t think there will be any power shortage during this festive season,” said Goyal.

He further said,” As far as the availability is concerned there’s no shortage and we’ve already worked out the requirement , even with the average daily requirement which is roughly 300 mega watts. So the power department is quite comfortable with this.”
