State boxers gear up for Women’s National Boxing C’ships

Shillong, Dec 20: In an exciting development, the Meghalaya Boxing Association (MBA) has officially announced the participation of its skilled female boxers in the upcoming 7th Elite Women’s National Boxing Championships. The prestigious event is scheduled to take place in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, from January 21 to 27, 2023.
The selected athletes, each competing in their respective weight categories, are, Veronica Sohshang – 48kg, Sonia Tamang – 50kg, Mellina Basawiawmoit – 52kg, Banisha Makri – 54kg
Adding to the team’s strength and guidance will be Coach Wilfred Kharmawlong and Manager Kong Caralyne Sun.
The MBA has expressed deep gratitude for the continuous support from the community as these talented female boxers prepare to showcase their skills and represent Meghalaya on the national stage.
The anticipation is high, and the association is confident in the abilities of its athletes as they strive for success in the championships.
Moreover, Meghalaya Boxing Association (MBA) announced that Jimy B Shadap and Daniel W Marbanaing have been successfully accredited as BFI 1 Star National Referee & Judge.
The accomplishment was realized during a competitive event held in Arunachal Pradesh, signifying a remarkable milestone for both individuals and the association.
