Meghalaya gets Rs 559.61 cr as tax devolution

SHILLONG, Dec 22: The Centre has given Meghalaya an additional installment of Rs 559.61 crore under the Tax Devolution programme.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, the Centre has approved the release of an additional installment of tax devolution totaling Rs 72,961.21 crore in order to strengthen the hands of state governments in financing various social welfare programmes and infrastructure development schemes. This is in light of the upcoming holidays and the New Year.
This installment is in addition to the installment of Rs 72,961.21 crore that was released on December 11, 2023. The next installment is due to be released on January 10, 2024.
