SHILLONG, Dec 26: BJP Meghalaya marked the supreme sacrifice of Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, the young sons of Guru Govind Singh, with a sparkling programme ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ at the state party office here on Tuesday.
Following the event, ‘Good Governance Day’ to mark the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was also celebrated.
‘Veer Bal Diwas’ was jointly hosted by BJP Meghalaya Mahila Morcha and BJYM, the party’s youth wing.
Speaking on the occasion, President of the state BJP Mahila Morcha Sukhi Pariat said, “Today as we observe ‘Veer Bal Diwas’, we look back at our history with pride and gratitude towards our ancestors and we gaze at the future with hope, confidence, and strength. The ideals of a great India are now being realised under the leadership of our honourable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi Ji and we all must be ready to contribute towards creating a powerful, prosperous India.”
The gathering for ‘Good Governance Day’ was addressed by prominent citizens and party members including Cabinet Minister A L Hek, Chief Spokesperson Mariahom Kharkrang, National Council Member David Kharsati, and Fenella Lyngdoh Nonglait.
Hek reflected on the G-20 theme and said, “One earth, one family, one future encapsulates the very essence of good governance. We must look upon every person as a family member and work towards promoting wellness at an individual and society level.”
Kharkrang talked about how good governance is not limited only to government servants but must be participated by every citizen to ensure a better India, a Swach Bharat, or a clean India.
“Every BJP karyakarta must take give in-depth information about central schemes to those who need them and thereby contribute to good governance,” he added.
