KSU asks MeECL to explain recruitment delay

Shillong, Jan 11: Irregularities in the recruitment process of the MeECL compelled the KSU – Employment Monitoring Cell on Thursday to demand an explanation from concerned authorities over the failure to conduct the personal interview for the post of Assistant Engineer (Electrical/ Mechanical) since 2019.
In a letter to the MeECL Director (Corporate Affairs), the union pointed out that 24 successful candidates were supposed to sit for the personal interview on August 26, 2019, however, a notification issued on August 22, 2019, informed that the interview has been postponed.
The union is livid with the fact that even after more than 4 years, the concerned authorities of the MeECL could not conduct the personal interview which was postponed and never scheduled to date, KSU – Employment Monitoring Cell chairman, Reuben Najiar said.
“This irregularity in the recruitment process has raised concerns over the transparency of the recruitment process in MeECL which in this case seems to be tainted beyond any reason or rhyme.”

The KSU urged the concerned authorities of MeECL to explain such a prolonged delay in the recruitment process and to immediately conduct the personal interview and recruit the eligible candidates fairly.
