SHILLONG, Jan 17: Amidst speculations about NPP pursuing UDP MDC from Nongpoh Balajied Ranee to joint their party, the UDP leader on Wednesday clarified that he has no intentions of leaving the party.
Reacting to reports about NPP’s efforts to rope him in, Ranee accepted that he was approached by the party.
He, however, had declined the offer since he was and remains committed to the UDP.
Talking about his desertion from the Congress and the shift to UDP, he clarified that the Congress had suspended the sitting MLA from Nongpoh, Mayralborn Syiem.
“I cannot remain in the party which decides to suspend my MLA, who we have supported. But now, why should I leave since I do not have any problem with the UDP,” he added.
