Shillong, January 21: Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik’s recent marriage to Pakistan TV actor Sana Javed has prompted a response from Sania Mirza’s family, revealing that Sania and Shoaib have been divorced for several months. The announcement of Malik’s third marriage came amid ongoing speculation about his relationship with Sania, with rumors circulating about their separation.

As per India Today, in a statement released on Sunday, Sania’s team confirmed the divorce, emphasizing that the tennis star has always kept her personal life private. The couple, who got married in 2010 and share a son named Ihzaan Mirza Malik, separated a few months ago. The statement urged fans and well-wishers to respect Sania’s need for privacy during this sensitive time and discouraged speculation.

Both Malik and Sana shared wedding ceremony photos on social media, with the Pakistani actor officially changing her Instagram bio to Sana Shoaib Malik. The couple celebrated their son’s 5th birthday in Dubai the previous year and had a history of supporting each other’s careers, including hosting a talk show together in the UAE.

Despite the personal developments, Shoaib Malik continued his cricket career, representing Fortune Barishal in the Bangladesh Premier League 2024. In their first match of the season against Rangpur Riders in Dhaka, Malik’s team secured a victory by 5 wickets.
