State Anthem not to be part of official R-Day prog

SHILLONG, Jan 24: The state government has decided not to play the recently released Meghalaya Anthem on Republic Day since the standard operating procedures are yet to be announced.
The Arts and Culture Department has sent out notices that the State Anthem will not be performed or played on January 26 at the state or district level because the SOP is still being prepared.
The State Anthem was released on January 20 to commemorate 52 years of statehood.
The exclusion of the Jaintia language in the Anthem has already sparked controversy.
