Shillong, January 28: On Sunday, Nitish Kumar tendered his resignation as the Chief Minister of Bihar, delivering the letter to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at the Raj Bhavan.

As per India Today, the announcement of his decision occurred during the Janata Dal (United) legislative meeting earlier in the day. Following the submission of his resignation, Nitish Kumar addressed reporters, revealing that he had additionally requested the Governor to dissolve the Mahagathbandhan alliance in Bihar.

The development marks a significant political shift in the state, with Nitish Kumar taking the step to not only step down from his role as Chief Minister but also advocate for the dissolution of the existing political coalition. This decision holds implications for the future political landscape in Bihar and introduces a new dynamic in the aftermath of Nitish Kumar’s tenure as the leader of the state.
