Awareness on domestic violence in WJH village

JOWAI, Jan 30: An awareness programme on domestic violence was held by Jaintia Hills Development Society (JHDS) in collaboration with the office of District Social Welfare, West Jaintia Hills, at Lumtrep Nongjngi village in West Jaintia Hills on Tuesday.
Among 63 participants were also a few men, who keenly attended the awareness programme on a phenomenon that has majority of women victims.
The field programme associate, JHDS, Francis Langlein chaired the meeting in the presence of its coordinator, Denis Kurkalang besides some government officials.
A short skit and drama on the domestic violence were showcased by intern students of Martin Luther Christian University.
