24×7 call centre
With the announcement of 2024 Lok Sabha elections by the Election Commission of India, a 24×7 call centre has been established at the control room of the Office of the North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner. In this regard, any person seeking information or having any complaint on election-related matters has been asked to contact 18003453757 (toll-free), 9707174320 (mobile phone) or 1950 (Only for BSNL SIM card holders).

Clarification
The Shillong Police have clarified that they have registered a case of unnatural death into the suicide of the state’s chief conservator of forests, N Luikham, and not a case of natural death.

Unclaimed body
One male patient, identified as Biswanath Thakur (55), C/o Laban, Shillong, was admitted in the Male Orthopedic Ward, Bed No. 16 at 7:41 pm on March 18. He, however, passed away at 9:15 pm on the same day. In this regard, all concerned relatives, etc., have been asked to collect the body from the hospital morgue within three days, failing which the same will be sent for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
