This Holi, revel, but be careful
From smearing to spraying, neither people nor clothes will come to recognise one another. On Holi, throughout the day, people will jostle on the streets of city perhaps dragging the festival well into the night.
Riotously enjoyable, the festival is incomplete without colours. But did you know that these colours are filled with chemicals that may prove toxic to the skin and eyes, besides being susceptible to respiratory issues?
You might want to stay away from toxic colours. If not the worse, some might just be stuck for a few days trying to get rid of the unforgiving colours glued mercilessly to their skin.
Part of running riot on Holi, the carnival of colours, is throwing in eggs in the equation! This is another thrill people combine with colours on Holi to make the occasion more riotous than it already is.
Then when the sun sets on the festival, everything lying below, from the roads and floor to the pavements, will remain smeared with colours and strewn with egg shells reminding you of what mania came to pass that day.
To those who will go all out, we hope you were careful and no colours remain in the crevices of your ears; and to the rest, if you get caught in the crossfire of eggs, colours and water guns, “Bura na mano Holi hai!” (Don’t be offended, it’s Holi!)
