SHILLONG, April 10: The District Election Officer of East Khasi Hills District organised the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya, engaging students in the initiative.
Eddy Ripnar, a member of the Meghalaya Model United Nations, highlighted two recently launched apps by the Election Commission of India — the Know Your Candidate (KYC) app, enabling voters to access candidate information including backgrounds and criminal records; and cVIGIL, a mobile app empowering citizens to report electoral fraud and malpractices anonymously to the Chief Electoral Officer for prompt action.
Questionnaires during the programme focused on electoral processes and concerns.
