SHILLONG, May 17: The High Court of Meghalaya on Friday issued notices to the state government and other concerned authorities to respond on the matter of alleged irregularities in the upper-age limit set for recruitment in Meghalaya Police.
A group of youth led by activist Barilang Pyngrope had approached the high court by way of a writ petition.
The Court on Friday heard L Nghaka, counsel for the petitioners, and notice was issued.
Government advocate ZE Nongkynrih accepted the notice on behalf of all the respondents.
The matter has been listed for May 23 for consideration on the interim prayer, the court said in its order.
