TURA, June 23: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Tura MDC on Sunday claimed that farmers of the state did not receive the PM Kisan card and those issued to them were not the same which was why many of them did not benefit from it.
According to the Tura MDC, the anomaly was revealed through a reply to an RTI filed.
“According to the RTI, the farmer’s card issued to the farmers is not a PM Kisan card. The confusion and the reason why many farmers did not get PM Kisan benefit has finally come to the fore through RTI. The PM Kisan card was not issued to the farmers but the Farmers card which was not the PM Kisan card was issued to most farmers in the state,” the BJP leader alleged.
“These two cards are not the same. RTI revealed that the farmer’s identity card is required for registration under the PM Kisan which was made mandatory to avail the PM Kisan but farmers did receive PM Kisan card. The RTI has revealed that it is a Government to citizen service,” he added.
According to the Tura MDC, the farmer’s card is supposed to be linked through a unique identifier farmers profile with all the agricultural schemes which have been availed by the farmers. But ever since the farmer’s registered for the farmer’s card, the majority of the farmers did not get benefits as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi which is eminent as complaints received from the farmers, he alleged.
“Many farmers failed to get the benefit of Rs 6,000 per year promised to them through PM Kisan in three equal installments annually which failed to be credited in the farmer’s accounts. Even KCC loan is a hurdle,” Bernard asserted.
