Bernard begins identification of incomplete JJM works in GH

TURA, July 1: BJP leader and Tura MDC Bernard N Marak on Monday began his tour of incomplete JJM projects at various places of Garo Hills, which were shown completed on the hoardings.
“I along with my team will visit the villages where projects are shown completed under JJM. All completed JJM projects should have satisfied beneficiaries in availing Har Ghar Jal. If families don’t receive drinkable water, legal steps will be taken against the contractors, engineers and all the names published on the completion hoardings,” the Tura MDC warned.
Bernard added that the BJP would not compromise on incomplete projects but take those responsible to task even as he warned that reports would be sent to the Centre and a high-level inquiry will be sought.
Meanwhile, the Tura MDC requested all villages, which do not have access to potable water despite having hoardings of completed JJM projects, to lodge their complaints with photographs of hoardings and the tabs, pipe, tanks etc through CSMC in arigri.com.
The MDC also informed that the Arigri team will start functioning in Khasi and Jaintia Hills region from the second week of July.
