Shillong, July 9: In a thrilling encounter in Group F of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2024, Mawphlang SC came from behind twice to secure a 3-2 victory over Mawkasiang SC at Polo Ground.
The game saw Mawkasiang take the lead twice, first with a goal from Westernroy Nongrum in the 24th minute, which was quickly equalized by Damutskhemlang Kharsahnoh just two minutes later. Mawkasiang regained the lead in the 32nd minute through Teiborlang Khongjee and maintained their advantage until the half-time. Mawphlang SC, however, fought back in the second half. Bankit Kurbah scored the equalizer in the 58th minute, and Firstborn Synrem sealed the victory with a goal in the 68th minute. This win places Mawphlang provisionally at the top of Group F with four points from two matches.In another match h, Risa Colony SC defeated Laitumkhrah SC 2-1 in Group E. (IANS)
