BSF foils cattle smuggling attempt, apprehends 6 Indian nationals

Shillong, July 31: The BSF troop deployed on India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya rescued 69 cattle loaded in four Bolero pick-up vehicles and apprehended six Indian nationals at the International border in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya today.

Troops of the 100 Bn BSF, in a joint operation with the Meghalaya Police, rescued 69 cattle from the bordering area near Dalu which were meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh, according to a Press release.

During this operation, six Indian nationals involved in cattle smuggling were also apprehended. The seized cattle and apprehended persons were handed over to the police station at Dalu for further legal action.
