In first in Shillong, the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific will perform at St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, from 10 am to 12:30 pm during a programme on August 7. This was informed by the U.S. Consulate, Kolkata.

Unclaimed body
A body of an unknown man, aged approximately 40 to 45 years, was on Thursday found floating in Satharlong river. According to a statement from the Office of the East Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police here, inquest and post-mortem examination were conducted on the spot in the presence of the witnesses as the body was in a highly decomposed state. Following the completion of the formalities, the body was subsequently shifted to Khliehriat Civil Hospital, East Jaintia Hills, and has been now kept at the hospital morgue for identification and claim. It has been informed that the deceased is 5’4” tall, has a round face, medium built and fair complexion. He was found wearing a black t-shirt and a pair of black trousers.
