Audition
Girls between the age of 16 and 25 years, and having a height of 5’3” and above to an audition for the forthcoming Miss Shillong 2024 Beauty Pageant at the State Convention Centre, Shillong (near Hotel Pinewood) on the 31st August 2024 at 12 noon. In a statement, Fashion Society Shillong has asked the contestants to bring high heels, apply light make-up. Figure-hugging outfits are necessary, it added. Championship
East Khasi Hills District Yogasana Sports Association, a unit of Meghalaya Yogasana Sports Association, will organise the 4th District Level Sports Championship 2024-25 at Art & Culture auditorium of State Central Library, on August 10, under the aegis of Meghalaya Yogasana Sports Association duly supported by District Sports Office, East Khasi Hills, and YESS!! Meghalaya. The entire districts of the state under Yogasana Sports Associations would also carry out similar competitions within July, 2028.
Programme
The Jaintia Tourism and Environment Society (JTES) on Tuesday welcomed inclusion of five new members, viz. principal of Jaintia Eastern College, Khliehriat Dr. Phervision Nongtdu; lecturers at Kiang Nangbah Government College, Jowai, Golden Dkhar and Hercules Toi; Soil Conservation Officer (retd.) Damekit Khonglah; and Sein Raij Tuber president Helping Phawa during a programme in Jowai. Established in 2006, the JTES is a society that conducts various awareness programmes related to tourism development and environmental protection.
