Drug traffickers apprehended with heroin at Ratachera

Shillong, August 22: A drug trafficker along with suspected heroin was apprehended by this morning at around 4.00 am by Ratachera anti infiltration personnel along with Umkiang PPP staff while conducting vehicle checking to detect illegal migrants, from one night  bus bearing registration number AS12E 6399 coming from Silchar side.

During checking, seven soap boxes containing yellowish/ orange powder were recovered from the passenger identified as Md Siraj Ali (36), S/o Borak Ali R/o Forest Colony Polo, Shillong, according to police.

The preliminary test gave positive for heroin and the total weight was 79.81 grams. In this connection a criminal case under the NDPS Act is being taken up against the inter-state trafficker.
