KVK students learn about agri system in India

TURA, Aug 27: An overview of India’s agricultural systems and role of KVK in technology dissemination to improve farm households was recently highlighted to students of Tura Public School, who visited the KVK, West Garo Hills as part of their study tour.
An in-depth lecture was delivered by Dr Monica Suresh Singh (SS cum Head, Agricultural Extension) on agricultural education and career opportunities, covering national and international agricultural institutions, entry level examinations, and job prospects in both public and private sectors.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Saha (Subject Matter Specialist, Agronomy) provided a guided tour of the KVK farm.
The students also explored the colocasia cafeteria, crop production units for rice, finger millet, turmeric, and ginger as well as the nutri-garden, mushroom production unit, and vermicomposting unit.
