SHILLONG, Sep 3: The Naga Elder’s Forum, Shillong, which seeks to ensure welfare of the Naga community in Shillong, has condemned in strongest term the act of assault, robbery, and looting committed by four individuals from Nagaland at Umran Niangbyrnai, Ri-Bhoi district, on August 25.
The four persons, namely Bokavi Zhimomi (25), Pashen Lam (32), Rokongulie Kepu (18), and Tsalipi (26), were arrested in Nagaland.
“The brazen act of assault and robbery is a shocking display of lawlessness and utter disregard for the security of life and property. It is a serious concern for the Nagas living in Shillong, and the Forum will not tolerate any individual of our community being involved in such acts of vandalism and looting,” it said in a statement.
The forum further urged the government to take strong and appropriate action as per law against the perpetrators.
