Shillong, Sep 5: KSU activist Gary Mawlieh (25), who was arrested on April 23 in connection with the murder of a labourer at Mawlai Mawroh, was granted bail by a local court on Thursday.
The court granted bail owing to failure of the police to file the charge sheet within the stipulated time period.
Hundreds of KSU members along with his family members welcomed Mawlieh after his release from the Shillong district jail.
Mawlieh had been arrested for the assault of Arjun Ray on April 10 at Mawlai Mawroh. Ray later succumbed to his injuries.
