State School Chess C’ship 2024 concludes

Shillong, Sep 22: The Meghalaya State School Chess Championship 2024, organized by the Meghalaya Chess Association (MCA) with the support of the Office of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), concluded on September 21st. The tournament, held at St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, featured participants from various schools across the state.
A total of 310 young chess enthusiasts, divided into Under-10, Under-13, and Under-16 categories, competed in the two-day event. Father Anthony, Principal of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, graced the opening ceremony.
In the closing ceremony, Swapnil Tembe (IAS), Director of School Education & Literacy, distributed the prizes to the top four finishers in each category.
