Over 1,650 youths attend Youth Fest

SHILLONG, Oct 20: Over 1,650 enthusiastic youth from Shillong and neighbouring regions gathered for the annual Youth Fest 2024, held at Sacred Heart Theological College in Mawlai, Shillong. The event, themed ‘Young People: The Pilgrims of Hope,’ featured distinguished guests, including Cabinet Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh and Rev Fr. John Zosiama SDB.
In her address, Lyngdoh inspired the young audience by highlighting their vital role in shaping the future of the state. She urged them to maintain a balance between love and commitment, cautioning against allowing these values to undermine their faith.
Fr. Zosiama, the Provincial of Shillong Province, delivered a homily encouraging the youth to become beacons of hope and support for one another. He urged them to embark on a lifelong journey as pilgrims of hope, spreading positivity and inspiration.
The event also featured captivating dance and musical performances, which mesmerised the audience with their creativity and energy. The program was a powerful testament to the boundless potential of Shillong’s youth.
