Vigilance Awareness Week culminates at POWERGRID

SHILLONG, Nov 1: The Vigilance Awareness Week, which kick-started on Monday, culminated at POWERGRID on Friday, with a slew of activities held throughout the observance.
According to a statement here, the POWERGRID observed the Vigilance Awareness Week under the theme ‘Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity’.
The awareness week began with an inauguration ceremony at the POWERGRID NER Regional Headquarters in Shillong, led by the Chief General Manager of the Asset Management Group. During the ceremony, the employees of POWERGRID took the Integrity Pledge, affirming their dedication to fostering an honest and transparent workplace. It was then followed by a walkathon.
Throughout the observance, POWERGRID engaged in various initiatives aimed at fostering public awareness of ethical practices and the damaging impact of corruption.
These included an Inter-School Debate Competition at Kendriya Vidyalaya, NEHU, on ‘Social Media: A Double-Edged Sword in the Fight against Corruption’, a drawing competition at Vivekananda LP School, and an essay writing competition among POWERGRID employees.
A vendor meet was also held to encourage discussions around integrity within the supply chain.
The week culminated with a closing ceremony Friday at the POWERGRID Office, during which Assistant Professor at IIM Shillong, Dr. Debasisha Mishra, addressed the employees, emphasising the importance of integrity in both personal and professional life.
