IAF jet crashes near Agra, pilot ejects safely
Agra/New Delhi, Nov 4: A MiG-29 fighter jet of the Indian Air Force crashed in a field near Uttar Pradesh’s Agra on Monday during a routine training sortie after it encountered a “system malfunction”, officials said. The pilot manoeuvered the aircraft to ensure no damage to life or property on the ground before ejecting safely, the IAF said, adding, a Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the crash. Visuals emerged on social media platforms showing the fuselage of the crashed jet engulfed in flames billowing a thick cloud of smoke. (PTI)

4 kids die of suffocation inside car
Amreli, Nov 4: Four children died of suffocation after getting locked inside a car while playing in Gujarat’s Amreli district, police said Monday. The incident took place at Randhiya village in the district on Saturday. The victims were children of a farm labourer couple hailing from Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, Deputy Superintendent of Police Chirag Desai told reporters. “The parents left for work at the farm of one Bharat Mandani at around 7.30 am, leaving their seven children behind. Four of the children entered the car of the farm owner parked near their house,” he said. The four victims, in the age group of 2 to 7 years, got locked from inside. They died due to suffocation, the official said. (PTI)

JEE aspirant found dead in rented room
Kota, Nov 4: A 16-year-old JEE aspirant was found dead inside his paying guest accommodation in Talwandi area here, police said on Monday. The student’s family has denied a post-mortem examination claiming that the boy died of natural causes as he was suffering from intense migraine issues and was being treated for it. A native of Bihar’s Patna, Arthav Ranjan had been taking coaching for the engineering entrance exam from an institute here for the last one-and-a-half-year, Jawahar Nagar Deputy SP Yogesh Sharma. Polish Paraglider stranded after mid-air collision
Dharamshala, Nov 4: A paraglider from Poland was stranded in Dhauladhar hills in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh after a mid-air collision with another paraglider, officials said on Monday. Efforts to airlift the paraglider, who was identified as Andrew Babinski, failed due to tough terrain on Monday, they said. Babinski got stranded in Dhauladhar hills on Sunday after colliding with another paraglider mid-air, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Baijnath, D C Thakur told PTI. An attempt to rescue him on Monday using a chopper failed due to tough terrain. The land search party will soon reach the spot, the officer said. (PTI)

Lokayukta police summon Karnataka CM
Mysuru, Nov 4: The Lokayukta police have summoned Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for questioning in the MUDA site allotment case on November 6, official sources said on Monday. They had on October 25 questioned his wife Parvathi B M, who is also an accused in the case. “We asked him to appear on Wednesday morning.” (PTI)
