SHILLONG, Nov 12: After a hot, humid summer followed by heavy rains, winter has finally arrived in Shillong. Over the past few days, residents have experienced chilly evenings and nights, although day hours remain clear and sunny.
On Tuesday, Shillong’s minimum temperature dropped to 10.4 degrees Celsius, prompting many residents to bring out warm clothing, heaters, and ‘choolahs’ to combat the cold.
Meanwhile, other parts of the region, including Sohra and Umiam, are still experiencing relatively warmer conditions, with maximum temperatures around 24 and 26 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures in these areas remain slightly above those in Shillong.
