Govt forms committee to revamp MPSC

Shillong, Nov 21: The state government has constituted a committee to study and recommend reforms to revamp the controversy-ridden Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC).
When contacted, Chief Secretary DP Wahlang on Thursday confirmed the constitution of the panel to revamp the commission.
As per report, the committee will be headed by Principal Secretary in-charge Arts and Culture, FR Kharkongor with Tourism director Cyril Diengdoh as member and Secretary to the Education department, Ambrose Ch Marak as member secretary.
The committee will have to submit its report to the government by January 31 next year.
It may be mentioned that the KSU had suggested 20 points to bring about fair and transparent recruitment in the MPSC.
