SHILLONG, Nov 24: The state government has assured its commitment to prioritising safety measures so as to prevent cases of electrocution across Meghalaya.
This decision comes in the wake of repeated reports of electrocution incidents from various parts of Meghalaya, the most recent being the tragic death of a 19-year-old boy in Rangblang Pombriew village, South West Khasi Hills district.
Addressing the issue, Power Minister AT Mondal assured that the government is taking all necessary steps to prevent such occurrences.
“We will put more emphasis on safety and, even in new projects, we will see that sufficient precaution is taken in vulnerable areas,” he said.
