Shillong, Dec 3: The East Khasi Hills District Athletics Association (EKHDAA) has announced its selection trials for athletes aiming to represent the district in the upcoming 6th Meghalaya Games 2025, which will be held in Jowai from January 21 to January 24, 2025.
The trials are scheduled for December 7, 2025, at the SAI, STC, Shillong, NEHU campus, starting from 8 AM.Athletes can register directly at the venue on the day of the trial.
Each participant may register for a maximum of two individual events. Chest numbers will be distributed during the registration process at the venue.
The trials will feature events across different categories based on age groups. Under-22 Men and Women: Events include 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, Long Jump, High Jump, Javelin Throw, and mixed relay events (4x100m and 4x400m).
Men will compete with an 800g javelin, while women will use a 600g javelin. Under-30 Men and Women: Events for men include 5000m and 10,000m, while women will compete in 3000m and 5000m.
Participants in the Under-22 and Under-30 categories must be above 16 years of age.
All athletes must meet the minimum entry standards set by the association. For example, Under-22 men must clock 12.00 seconds in the 100m race, while Under-22 women need to complete the same race in 15.00 seconds.
Athletes are required to present original documents as proof of age. Accepted documents include birth certificates, educational board certificates, school leaving certificates, or Aadhaar cards. No other forms of documentation will be accepted.
Participants must wear running or sports shoes. Food and water provisions are to be arranged by the athletes themselves.
No travel or daily allowances will be provided by the association.
The EKHDAA General Secretary, Kyrshanbok Marbaniang, has encouraged athletes to actively participate in this opportunity to showcase their talents and represent the district in the prestigious Meghalaya Games.
