SHILLONG, Dec 4: The Voice of the People Party (VPP) on Wednesday expressed gratitude to the District Selection Committee (DSC) of Eastern West Khasi Hills for heeding their appeal to reschedule the DSC examination for the LDA post, which was originally scheduled for December 14, 2024.
The request, initiated by the VPP units of Mairang and Mawthadraishan on behalf of job aspirants from the district, sought a new date for the exam due to concerns raised by applicants.
According to the VPP, the rescheduling was necessary to address grievances from candidates who faced a scheduling conflict. The DSC examination coincided with another LDA exam conducted by the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC), forcing candidates to choose between the two.
To resolve the issue, the VPP formally communicated with the Deputy Commissioner, who also serves as the DSC Chairman, urging an adjustment to the exam date. The party emphasized the need to ensure fair opportunities for all candidates and prevent any disadvantage caused by the clash of schedules.
The VPP’s intervention aimed to ensure that job aspirants in Eastern West Khasi Hills District could participate in both examinations without compromise.
Earlier, The Khasi Students’ Union Employment Monitoring Cell (KSU-EMC) had also written to Chief Secretary DP Wahlang to point out a conflict between the LDA examinations and another exam conducted by the MPSC.
According to the KSU, the LDA exam was announced on October 31, 2024, while the MPSC, in a later notification on November 18, 2024, scheduled its LDA examination on the same day.
