GH group asks Centre to finish work on road

TURA, Dec 16: The All Meghalaya Minority Students’ Union (AMMSU) has urged the Centre to complete the construction of NH-127B, particularly the Phulbari-Goeragre portio).
In a letter to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari, the union, while raising the deteriorating condition of the existing road, stated that locals were facing immense hardships while using the road. It also said that the timely completion of the road construction will ease the difficulties faced by the people.
Further, the union sought compensation for landowners, stating that it was essential that the affected families receive fair and just compensation.
