SHILLONG, Feb 10: Acting on specific intel, police on Monday arrested five suspected criminals from Mawsynram and recovered a country made pistol with four rounds of .22 calibre ammunition and incriminating documents from their possession. The five have been identified as Aidonsing Nongsiej (40), Orally Khardewsaw (33), Wanrilang Nongkynrih (33), Mossingstar Nongbri (28) and Pynshailang Puwein (30).
Confirming the arrest, East Khasi Hill SP Vivek Syiem said one of the five persons was wanted in connection with a cheating case registered at Lumdiengjri police station. Refusing to divulge more, he said that a case has been registered at Mawsynram police station.
