Shillong, Feb 18: Shillong Lajong FC will travel to Goa for a crucial I-League clash against Dempo SC at the Fatorda Stadium in Margao on Wednesday. The match is set to kick off at 4:30 PM and will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Channel, the SSEN mobile app, and the ssen.co website.
Coming off an impressive victory over Sreenidi Deccan in their previous outing, Shillong Lajong will aim to build on their winning momentum as they look to climb higher in the league standings.
Currently placed fifth in the table with 22 points from 14 matches, a win in this fixture could see them rise to third place, putting them in strong contention for a top finish this season.
Dempo SC, on the other hand, finds itself in eighth place with 18 points from the same number of games. Playing at home, they will be determined to bounce back and close the gap on the top half of the table. With both sides eager to strengthen their position, fans can expect a competitive and high-intensity battle on the field.
Lajong has displayed an impressive attacking brand of football this season, and their recent victory showcased their ability to dominate strong opponents.
With key players in form, they will look to capitalize on their strengths and exploit any weaknesses in Dempo’s defense.
However, playing in Goa comes with its challenges, and Lajong will have to be at their best to secure all three points.
Meanwhile, Dempo will bank on their home support and tactical discipline to counter Lajong’s aggressive approach.
The Goan outfit has had a mixed campaign so far, but a victory in this fixture could give them a much-needed boost as they enter the business end of the season.
As both teams prepare for this important showdown, all eyes will be on Fatorda Stadium, where a thrilling encounter awaits football fans.
