SHILLONG, April 1: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has committed Rs 170 crore to the state government for the fiscal year 2024-25.
In a statement, NABARD said the funding will power 80 rural infrastructure projects, setting the stage for enhanced development across Meghalaya.
“The approved projects include 27 new river valley initiatives aimed at restoring soil productivity, safeguarding the environment, maintaining vegetation cover and promoting sustainable development. Additionally, critical improvements in rural
connectivity will be achieved through the construction of 27 new roads; the upgradation, rehabilitation, or improvement of 24 existing roads; and the reconstruction of two key bridges,” it said.
