Bike stolen
Ibanli Ryngsiat lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of April 15 and 16, miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (ML-05AD-7817) from his residential compound at Lummawbah, Upper Shillong.

Fake currency seized
On April 16, around 2.10 am, police received information that residents of Jebalgre village in South Wes Garo Hills apprehended two persons — Rambera R Marak (25) and Kandit D Sangma (30) — and recovered Rs 36,000 of ‘Fake Indian Currency Notes’ (FICN) from their possession and handed them over to police. During enquiry, it transpired that the duo went to the residence of one Tangrik M Marak (in the village) to share the FICN. Later, another Rs 73,000 of FICN was also recovered from the house of Tangrik M Marak, who, however, remains at large.

Defamation
HNYM CEC members Marshal Nonglait and Kromeior Rangjem jointly lodged a complaint that miscreants defamed their organisation by illegally collecting money in the name of HNYM from Iewduh, Shillong. The complainants stated that the receipts do not belong to the organisation.

Border fence breached
Coy-Commander, F-Coy, 50th Bn., BSF, BOP Gujangpara, South West Garo Hills lodged a complaint that on April 15, around 10.50 am, BSF personnel detected that international border fence in OP/ACP Point No. 9(A) BOP Gujangpara has been breached.

Goods misappropriation
Pawan Kr. Mittal lodged a complaint that on March 21, 2025, he hired a truck (AS-01PC-3525) belonging to one Chhotu Kumar (through his staff viz., Pawan Kumar) for transportation of 900 bags of cements belonging to M/s Hills Cement Ltd. from Umiam, Ri-Bhoi, to Changsari, Kamrup, Assam. However, the said truck did not reach its destination till date. During enquiry, it transpired that the same has been misappropriated by Chhotu Kumar and Pawan Kumar.

Break-in
Ganga Basnet lodged a complaint that on April 15 afternoon, miscreant(s) broke into her residential quarter at Nongrim Hills, Shillong, and stole gold and silver ornaments and two mobile phones, total valued around Rs 2.2 lakh.
